I've been thinking about the caudium 1.5 build process and was
wondering if anyone had any thoughts about possibly switching from our
own build system to using pike -x module for our c language modules. I
feel like making that switch would allow us to take advantage of the
collective wisdom of the pike development community when it comes to
building modules. that would, in theory, allow us to focus on more
important things. I spent a little time last night playing around and
was able to convert the _Caudium module over to pike -x module. We'd
still need top level configure and make stuff, but it wouldn't
necessarily be pike specific.
Any thoughts? Can anyone think of drawbacks, upsides, etc?
